Walk-For_Life We again took an active part in the 2006 fund raiser for our local Pregnancy Center.

We had church representatives at two of the three walk sites in Pinellas County. Our Pastor was at the downtown St. Petersburg site. Again we had fantastic weather and an abundance of enthusiasm among the walkers. Scattered among the many who walked were dogs, people on skates, bikes and kids in strollers or wagons. Faces were painted, music was enjoyed, refreshments were served and funds were raised for the ministry of Christ to needy mothers and their babies.

	The line of walkers at times filled the whole 2-mile course from beginning to end.

Along the way there were some appealing distractions reminding us what this is all about: kids, children who are gifts of the Lord who will one day become our friends in times of need, workers in our churches and neighborhoods, and valuable treasures in glory. Our goal is to encourage mothers and help the unborn children have every good opportunity to enter this life and become beacons for Christ. The pledges received from the walk so far are over $425,000.

	We were very encouraged by the work of one of our own church-children, Brandon (shown by the wagon with his sister Lily), for raising $900 in pledges for the walk.
